Origin
This variety has its origins in Egipt, was expanded through the Mediterranean form Alexandria , most probably by the Roman Empire .

Main characteristics
The grapes have a very thick structure and juice, and very intense taste. Moscatel grapes mature very late in the year.

What kind of wine does Moscatel originates
The wines are velvety with strong aromas of dried fruits and floral notes, orange skins, aromatic herbs, spices and caramel, altogether with great complexity.

Main regions where Moscatel is planted
Moscatel is mainly planted in the D.O.C. Setúbal.
